Hanjanฮันจัน · 한잔

Hanjan is a Korean restaurant inside Sukhumvit Plaza (Korean Town) in Bangkok, known for Korean fried chicken. It has been open since 2002. It was formerly called Salroman Chimac — same team, same fried chicken recipe, new name. The signature dish is yangnyeom chicken, fried to order and tossed in sweet-spicy sauce, eaten with soju or beer the way Koreans call chimaek. Side dishes are refilled free. BBQ is grilled in the kitchen and served ready to eat — you never grill your own meat, there is no grill on the table, and no smoke smell on your clothes.

Frequently asked questions자주 묻는 질문

Is Hanjan the same place as Salroman Chimac?
Yes. Hanjan is the former Salroman Chimac, renamed. Same location, same team, same Korean fried chicken recipe.
Where is it and how do I get there?
212/34 Sukhumvit Plaza (Korean Town), Sukhumvit Road, Soi Sukhumvit 12, Khlong Toei, Bangkok 10110 — about 3 minutes (300 m) on foot from BTS Asoke Exit 2, or about 400 m from BTS Nana. The restaurant is on the 1st floor, near the lift.
What should I order?
Salroman Korean fried chicken is the signature — pick from four sauces. The chef's recommendation is galbi-jjim (braised beef short ribs, ฿590), and gopchang (grilled intestines, ฿490–520) is hard to find elsewhere in Bangkok. Also popular: bulgogi, samgyeopsal, dak galbi, budae jjigae, samgyetang, sundubu and dolsot bibimbap.
How much per person?
Around ฿400–600, VAT included. For example Salroman Chicken S ฿149 / M ฿260 / L ฿600 · samgyeopsal ฿320 · sundubu ฿149 · dolsot bibimbap ฿240 · budae jjigae ฿550 · gopchang ฿490 · galbi-jjim ฿590. Side dishes are refilled free. See the full menu.
Are the side dishes free?
Yes — banchan is refilled free of charge.
Do I have to grill the meat myself?
No. The BBQ is grilled in the kitchen and brought out ready to eat. There is no grill on the table — nothing burns, nothing is undercooked, no one sits next to a hot plate, and the smoke does not stick to your clothes. Good for a lunch break before going back to work, for bringing older relatives or children, and for eating alone.
What are the opening hours?
Every day, 11:00–23:00. On public holidays it is worth calling 02-251-2276 first.
Can I book a table? Do you take large groups?
Call 02-251-2276 to book. The restaurant has 2 floors and takes large groups and company dinners.
Do you do delivery and takeaway?
Both. Takeaway at the restaurant, and delivery on Wongnai / LINE MAN (delivery fee starts at ฿0 within a set distance), GrabFood and foodpanda. You can also call ahead and pick up.
Is there an English menu? Anything non-spicy?
Yes, there is an English menu, and Korean Town sees Korean and international diners every day. For non-spicy, order original fried chicken without sauce, non-spicy sundubu, bibimbap or japchae — just tell the staff.
Is there parking and Wi-Fi?
Yes — park at Sukhumvit Plaza. The restaurant has free Wi-Fi and takes credit cards and QR PromptPay.
