Walking from BTS Asok, Sheraton side아속역에서 오는 길
Asok is the interchange between the BTS Sukhumvit Line and the MRT Blue Line (Sukhumvit station). It sits at the Asok Montri intersection, on the corner shared by Terminal 21, Exchange Tower and Interchange 21. From the BTS platform take the exit on the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit side, which is the even-numbered side of Sukhumvit Road (opposite Terminal 21).
- Come down on the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit side and face Nana (west). If Terminal 21 is across the road from you, you are heading the right way.
- Walk along Sukhumvit Road on the even side, past the Sheraton, the mouth of Soi Sukhumvit 14 and the Times Square Building.
- At Soi Sukhumvit 12 you will see a tall building covered in Korean signs — that is Sukhumvit Plaza, known as “Korea Town”.
- Go inside and up to the 1st floor. Hanjan is near the lift; look for the HANJAN · 한잔 sign.
The whole walk is about 300 m and takes 3–4 minutes; parts of the pavement are covered, so a small umbrella is enough on rainy days. From MRT Sukhumvit, come up through the exit that connects to BTS Asok and follow the same route, about 5 minutes.
Other ways in: BTS Nana, car, taxi다른 교통편
- BTS Nana — exit on the even side and walk toward Asok for about 400 m, past Soi 6, 8 and 10 to Soi 12, roughly 5 minutes.
- By car — underground parking at Sukhumvit Plaza: turn into Soi Sukhumvit 12 and the ramp down is on the right about 50 m in. Friday evenings fill up, so the skytrain is easier.
- Taxi / Grab — say “Sukhumvit Plaza, Soi Sukhumvit 12” or “Korea Town, opposite Times Square”. Plus Code PHQ5+55 Bangkok.
- From Asok offices (Exchange Tower, Interchange 21, GMM Grammy Place, Ocean Tower) — all within a 5–10 minute walk, no major road to cross if you are on the even side.
What is Korea Town at Sukhumvit Plaza?수쿰빗 플라자 한인타운
Sukhumvit Plaza is a multi-storey commercial building at the mouth of Soi Sukhumvit 12 that has been the hub of Bangkok’s Korean community since the late 1990s. Inside are dozens of Korean restaurants, a Korean supermarket, hair salons, a bakery and karaoke rooms, which is why Bangkokians call it “Korea Town”. Searches for Korean food near Asok, Nana or lower Sukhumvit almost always lead here.
Hanjan (ฮันจัน · 한잔) is one of the longest-running restaurants in the building, open since 2002 as Salroman Chimac, a Seoul-style Korean fried chicken and beer (“chimaek”) place. It is now called Hanjan, meaning “one glass”, with the same team and the same chicken recipe, and a full Korean menu of grilled dishes, hot pots, stews and rice bowls. The restaurant has two floors for large groups and company dinners and is ranked in Wongnai’s TOP 5 Korean fried chicken restaurants.
What to order when you come from Asok추천 메뉴
Weekday lunch — Asok office workers usually go for quick single dishes such as sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew), dolsot bibimbap or kimbap. Every dish comes with banchan (side dishes) like kimchi, pickled vegetables and pickled radish, refilled free.
Dinner and drinks — the signature is Salroman chicken, double-fried Korean fried chicken with a choice of 6 sauces (original, yangnyeom, soy garlic, teriyaki, hot sauce, sweet chili), best with soju or beer. Grilled dishes such as samgyeopsal, galbi and gopchang are cooked in the kitchen and brought out ready — no grill on the table, no smoke on your clothes, so you can go back to the office. The chef’s recommendation is galbi-jjim, braised beef short ribs.
